Daniel and Jenna enjoyed a Music Therapy Jamboree. Kathryn and Daniel enjoyed a day out in Monaghan and lunch in the Hillgrove
During the month of March SCC 6 have been busy. We got dressed up for St. Patrick's day, We had to taste different foods as part of our New Horizons work. Some of the foods were good to taste. We enjoyed music therapy sessions with Grainne.
Special care 6 enjoyed the travel day. We had the seniors in to do their dance for us. It was just great fun. Some of us got all dressed up and we had photographs taken in the bus. We had loads of fun racing cars down a tube in our Pit Stop activity.
As part of our New Horizons Programme we were up in the post Office posting letters - My local community module. We visited the Fairy Forest and enjoyed looking at all the different little fairy areas and listening to the sounds of the chimes in the wind.
We were helping to organise the prayer service. We helped to put the leaves on the tree, the leaves represented our intentions. Enjoying different activities
As part of our New Horizons Programme we are getting out and about, we have visited the library, Sean's Diner and Haltons. We have visited shops and bought ourselves a little treat.
On Monday the 3rd of October our unit was rocked yet again as we learned of the loss of our Special friend Martin Reilly.
Martin had been part of our unit years ago until he moved with his family and then two years ago returned to be part of our school again. He was a quiet pleasant young man whose smile and presence brought joy and happiness to those of us who were privileged to have worked with him. Our lives have been touched and we have all been greatly blessed to have known such a special young man Martin. We remember and pray for our friend Martin, may God comfort his family today and give them the grace and courage to continue. May God now hold Martin close in his arms and may he rest in peace. SCC6 have been very busy from we came back to school. We have started our New Horizons challenge; we have been working on the colour blue. We have been busy in the kitchen making buns and we even helped to make some buns for the Friendship Cafe. We were out to see the Holstein cows when they visited the school. We were able to touch them.
