Senor One have been enjoying a full and varied topic based curriculum including the Tropical Rainforest Ecosystem, Water, Castles and work in the local community (St. Vincent de Paul).

In September we researched the characteristics and adaptions of plant and animal life. We discovered various threats to the rainforest ecosystem and decided to raise money to help protect and conserve rainforest animals.

We sold friendship bracelets to pupils and staff raising 280euro for Dublin Zoo.

In October we worked on the theme 'Castles' and in November the theme 'Water' and enjoyed many science experiments.

In December we helped a local charity - St. Vincent de Paul by organising a food bank collection for local families.

We thank everyone for their support.

On the 8th of May we had a European Cultural day in school. All of the classes had a chosen country within the EU to research. Our chosen country was Greece. We put a lot of work into our project, we really enjoyed learning about Greece. As part of the project we learned about the Greek flag, the location of Greece, Ancient Greek clothes, Greek food and the origins of the Olympics. We enjoyed learning how to make hummus. We also got to taste a variety of Greek foods.

We were very busy in March. We had Marty Mone visit us and perform his single "Hit the Diff". We really enjoyed listening to him. As St Patrick's Day was approaching, we had a non uniform day and got to wear all things green. We also completed lots of St Patrick's Day artwork including Irish flags, shamrocks and also the legendary pot of gold under the rainbow.
