Senor One have been enjoying a full and varied topic based curriculum including the Tropical Rainforest Ecosystem, Water, Castles and work in the local community (St. Vincent de Paul).
On the 8th of May we had a European Cultural day in school. All of the classes had a chosen country within the EU to research. Our chosen country was Greece. We put a lot of work into our project, we really enjoyed learning about Greece. As part of the project we learned about the Greek flag, the location of Greece, Ancient Greek clothes, Greek food and the origins of the Olympics.We enjoyed learning how to make hummus. We also got to taste a variety of Greek foods.
GAA Visitors.
There was great excitement when the Liam McCarthy and the Sam Maguire cups came to visit! Delighted pupils and staff got their chance to raise the famous cups. Below are a few pictures from the day. We enjoyed learning about Symmetry this month. We learned that Symmetry is all around us. We had great fun making colourful symmetrical butterflies. As our Easter holidays were fast approaching, we enjoyed learning about symbols of Easter.We made cool Easter egg patterns using different colours of paint.
We were very busy in March. We had Marty Mone visit us and perform his single "Hit the Diff". We really enjoyed listening to him. As St Patrick's Day was approaching, we had a non uniform day and got to wear all things green. We also completed lots of St Patrick's Day artwork including Irish flags, shamrocks and also the legendary pot of gold under the rainbow.
Senior 1 are getting into the Christmas spirit with their festive Art. We had great fun making Rudolf the reindeer hand prints and paper chains from old wrapping paper.
