May- Goats and Bridges

30/5/2019

This month’s theme was Goats and Bridges. We experienced and enjoyed a sensory story, based on The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We made a small play world and retold this story. We had fun making sound effects, which enhanced the story. We re-enacted the story in drama. Michael was brilliant playing the role of the selfish troll. We used smoke bombs to create special scary effects which everyone loved. We learned about bridges and what materials they are built from.  We went to visits bridges in our locality and further afield to Keady Viaduct in County Armagh. In art we made trolls heads using clay and mixed media. In maths we enjoyed 3.D construction, building our own bridges. We visited a goat and Alpaca farm in Glaslough. We had a brilliant day out and enjoyed feeding the kid goats. We had a great day out at Shercock Athletic Track with Laura. Everyone participated well in track running, relays, long jump and shot-put. It has been very busy month preparing James Paul and Nevin for graduation. We had a fantastic night at graduation ceremony in the Errigal Hotel. Well done James Paul and Nevin. We will miss you and wish you the best of luck and blessings for the future.
