Here is our Winter Display. We made penguins from water bottles, shaving foam polar bears, penguin collages and clay snow men. We sand and danced the Winter Hokey Pokey and dressed up in warm winter clothes. It's been another busy month in Junior 7.
In December, we practiced some cooking. We made toast, pancakes and rice krispie buns. We went on a trip to Monaghan. We visited Grahams and posted our letters to Santa. We also enjoyed cookies and juice in the restaurant. We said Goodbye to the old school building and began settling into the shiny new school one!
Our November theme was BIRDS. We did some lovely bird art, read bird themed books including Owl Babies and learned the names of some of our common birds. In the pictures above we are getting food ready for the birds, cutting up fruit and mixing it with seeds and bread and placing it on the bird table and in our sensory garden. We also had binoculars and went outside in search of birds.
We had a busy month in Junior 7. Here is just a snap shot of what we got up to. We made some Halloween felt decorations by sewing felt pieces together. We went outside searching for spiders. We managed to catch a few and look at them under the microscope. We made playdough and put different spices into it. We made cinnamon scented, clove scented and ginger scented playdough. We cut Halloween shapes out of it. We read Room on the Broom and Incy Wincy Spider and our daily song was about The Haunted House and all it's visitors!
