"The Holy Family School have achieved Active School Flag status. An Active School is a school that promotes a physically aware environment and physically active school community. The kids worked extremely hard in PE over the year and at lunch times. The School ran an Active School Week in April. The Active School Week involves providing fun and inclusive physical activity opportunities for all members of the school community. It allows schools to reinforce the message that not only is physical activity good for you but it also very enjoyable. It provides schools with an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about the physical activity opportunities that are available in their locality and to work collaboratively with students, parents and members of the community. Active School Week included many different events including Archery, Superheros Obstacle Course, Spinathon, Hurling, and a Pedometer contest between the classes.
The Flag was awarded to the school on the 14th of June 2016. Aoghan O feargha raised the flag on what was a very special occasion for the school."
