Circus comes to the School

26/11/2014

On Wednesday 26th November 2014 the circus came to Cootehill.  The family run circus came to school to perform for the children and staff alike.  It started off with the tallest man in the world who got stuck in the door; much to the delight of the children, and then moved on to 'the prince of balance' who performed some outstanding balancing tricks.  He started his act by balancing a chair on bottles and then performing handstands, before moving on to balancing on 4 chairs. When the act is performed in the big top he balances on 15 chairs but due to the ceiling height in school he had to stop at 4.

Next there was unicycle riding of varying heights including five foot and eight foot bikes. There was audience participation too; a balloon blowing up and popping race which Paudie (or his stage name - Cabbage) won and also a competition to find the strongest man - unfortunately the staff lost, even when it was four against one!!!

Finally, there was a contortionist act, who performed some fantastic tricks.  He has been training since he was 2 years old and even now he is only 6.

Everybody had a brilliant time and the children didn't stop smiling, laughing, and clapping along.  We can't wait to see them again next time they come to visit.
