Model making with clay
Bernie Nelson, CAPS (http://www.capssupport.ie) has been organising training for some of the CAPS days with Tanya Trimble from Jumping Clay (www.jumpingclay.co.uk) – Tanya works with pupils training them to create colourful models using special clay. The pupils are given the opportunity to learn in a fun and colourful way and they take great pride in taking home the finished product to show their handy work to their parents and siblings.
Bernie agreed to sponsor a day in school and paid for Tanya to come to the school to work with some of our pupils. We organised a timetable and Tanya instructed the pupils on how to make penguins to decorate their Christmas trees. The pupils and staff really enjoyed the day and learned a lot. Thanks to Bernie and Tanya and hopefully we will repeat the exercise sometime soon.
