For Communication and literacy this month we have been working on answering the phone and transferring it to the correct person.
Our popular 'Friendship Cafe' opened to the public in Bank of Ireland in Cootehill as part of Enterprise Ireland. We made lots of treats and served tea and coffee to the customers. Lots of our friends from school came to visit and we were so happy to serve some familiar faces. We all worked so hard and were exhausted at the end of it. We raised some money for our school and the bank matched the amount raised.
In Personal Care we were working on emotions, we made some emojis.
We were all so excited to get back to school after the long summer break. There was a festival feeling in the White Star with a stage and a tepee tent in the yard! We are looking forward to finishing off our Level 2 and new horizons this year. We are all ready for an action packed term ahead. We welcomed Reece and Tomasz to our class and said goodbye to Conor, Aileen and Stan.
To celebrate our school opening 50 years we all went back to the sixties. We learned a new dance with Senior 7 called 'the Twist'. Everybody came to school dressed in sixties clothes and we had a parade in town with a garda escort. We performed our dance in the school and in the Special Care Unit. We also had a 1960s disco. We answered some questions from visitors about the information on our stand. We visited all the other classes stands. It was such a fun day for the whole school.
