Look at all of our photos from our commemoration day that was on on the 15th of March. It was a great way to remember and learn about the history of everything that happened in 1916. Staff and children all dressed up in old clothing and we all loved watching and getting involved in everything Irish! Grainne from our class had a very important role on the day, she raised the national flag and everybody sang our national anthem. It was a fantastic day and it was enjoyed by all!
We had a great afternoon on Monday with Tanya form C.A.P.S. She showed us how to use jumping clay to make lovely Easter chicks. Everyone enjoyed the texture of the clay and we all listened to the instructions. We had to let them dry overnight and brought them home on Tuesday when they were fully dry. We were delighted with the finished product!
February was a quick month and we really enjoyed our mid term break on the 17th, 18th and 19th. This month we made Valentine's Trees using our hand and arm print to make the tree and our finger prints to make love heart leaves. We also made hanging love hearts for our Mums for Valentines. We mixed pink wool with glue and placed it in a heart shape on grease proof paper. We let them dry for two days and then peeled them off and attached another piece of wool so that they were able to hang. We really enjoyed this activity. We also painted paper plates a mixture of colours to make butterflies for our Spring display.
